Situation

The Georgia Secretary of State agency is responsible for the administration of secure, accessible, and fair elections; registration of corporations; regulation of charities and securities; and oversight of professional license holders. The agency has implemented many e-government solutions while in office. The agency has also worked to communicate more efficiently with Georgia’s businesses, promote voter registration, cut bureaucratic red tape, reduce costs on Georgia taxpayers, and deter corporate identity theft.

Solution

ThreeWill designed, implemented, tested and documented the transition to a new SharePoint 2016 environment for over ten SharePoint-based applications.  We worked with other Microsoft partners and the agency to accomplish this project.  We were responsible for the managing the overall process and meeting the project constraints.

SharePoint 2010 to 2013 Migration Eliminating Sandboxed Solutions

Client Profile

Global Telecom services and equipment provider to millions of consumers, businesses and other service providers in dozens of countries.

Situation

Entertainment Group responsible for managing a holistic customer communications strategy to ensure consistency, relevance, improvement of customer experience, and alignment with corporate strategic goals.  

A SharePoint 2010 application was being successfully used to manage all post-sale customer communication requests.  The corporate I/T team made a decision to require that all SharePoint 2010 sites/applications be migrated to a new on-premise SharePoint 2013 server farm and to eliminate SharePoint sandboxed applications.

Solution

SharePoint 2013 application that retains the same user experience, business logic and workflows but includes a modern UI and leverages new SharePoint 2013 out-of-the-box functionality, e.g., user access request process.

Business Benefits

New application significantly outperforms the SharePoint 2010 application without requiring any retraining of users. Smaller server side application footprint with key functions now performed with client-side code. New provisioning model was implemented that more efficiently supports potential future changes in the application.  Benefits achieved with zero impact to existing user experience, including  content migration of existing records  from the SharePoint 2010 application instance.

Commodities investment management organization managing properties across the United States.  Key corporate differentiator is a tight focus on reducing inefficiencies in management of all aspects of the property lifecycle.

Situation

The primary driver for maximizing investor returns depended upon efficient management of large numbers of documents for each property and the related complex set of stakeholders and business processes.  

Documents were being stored in multiple I/T infrastructure silos with no consistent formats or versioning controls and no efficient search and retrieval mechanism.  This situation impacted both consistency of operational business processes and the ability to execute strategic initiatives.

Solution

A multi-phase 3 year program to migrate all document management functions and related business processes to Office 365 and a SharePoint Online Content Management Portal with the following key features:

  • Simple unified hierarchy for managing multiple Portfolios containing multiple Properties.
  • Consistent metadata tagging and document upload user experience that provides support for both user-specified tag values as well as auto-populated values.
  • Provisioning engine for quickly creating portfolio and property sites with a consistent structure, navigation and metadata experience.
  • Custom Search Center with ability to refine documents based on customer-centric corporate taxonomy.
